Tartakowerisms

* The blunders are all there, waiting to be made.

* The winner of a game is the one who
has made the next-to-last blunder.

* Sacrifices only prove that somebody has blundered.

* It is always better to sacrifice your opponent's men.

* Moral victories do not count.

* A threat is more powerful than its execution.

* An isolated Pawn spreads gloom all over the chessboard.

* Tactics is knowing what to do when there is something to do;
strategy is knowing what to do when there is nothing to do.
